Bohdan Khmelnytsky National University of Cherkasy have joined the «Twinning Initiative» program launched by the British consulting company «Cormack Consultancy Group» (UK) with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

As part of this program, an online meeting was held on August 16 with representatives of the University of Greenwich, London (UK): Peter Griffiths, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Peter Taylor, Chief Operating Officer, Chris Shelley, Director of Student and Academic Services, Louise Blair, Head of the International Office. Cherkasy National University was represented by Serhiy Kornovenko, Vice-Rector for Scientific, Innovation and International Activities, and the staff of International Relations Office. The moderator of the meeting was Oksana Vavrenchuk, Executive Assistant to Chairman of «Cormack Consultancy Group». They discussed the concept of cooperation, which is aimed at starting a deep and long-term partnership that will support CNU in both the short and long term.

Issues were discussed: the possibilities of offline and virtual forms of academic mobility; organization of summer schools for students and employees; free English language courses; involvement of students of CNU as participants of educational courses of the University of Greenwich; inviting lecturers to give lectures to students of CNU; scientific cooperation in common areas of research; access to online classes and virtual laboratories; access to online resources and IT support; access to library resources.

The next meeting is scheduled for early September.

One of the results of the meeting was the submission of the request for access the Linda Hall library by the M. Maksymovych university library.

Reference: the Linda Hall Library is an independent library founded in 1946 in Kansas City (US). The library has two main collections: the History of Science Collection and the General Collection, which contain materials in Ukrainian.
