The series of graduation ceremonies at Bohdan Khmelnytsky National University of Cherkasy has come to an end. This year, 1,025 graduates completed 53 educational programmes and received bachelor’s degrees.
The final graduation ceremony was held by the Educational-Scientific Institute of Pedagogical Education, Social Work and Art, where 170 graduates were awarded their diplomas.
Addressing the graduates, Acting Rector Yevhenii Kyryliuk emphasised the special mission they are called to fulfil:
“You are the people whom artificial intelligence will never replace: preschool educators, teachers, social workers, and artists. Your role is truly invaluable. If we lose a single seed today, we may lose the entire harvest in a few years. You are unique. During your studies, you learnt how to teach children resilience while simultaneously cultivating it within yourselves. You tested methods for stepping beyond your comfort zone and experienced them firsthand. A diploma from Bohdan Khmelnytsky National University of Cherkasy is widely recognised throughout the region. Be worthy ambassadors of your university.”
Yevhenii Kyryliuk thanked the graduates’ parents for supporting their children’s decision to pursue higher education and expressed his gratitude to the academic staff for preserving and advancing the university’s proud traditions. Furthermore, he urged the bachelor’s graduates not to rest on their laurels but to advance their education by enrolling in master’s programmes – to create, take action, help others, and contribute to the development of education, culture, and the arts in Ukraine.
The graduates also received words of encouragement from Tetiana Zorochkina, Acting Director of the Institute, as well as from employers: Snizhana Kozova, Director of the Centre for Professional Development of Pedagogical Staff (a municipal institution under the Cherkasy City Council), and Tetiana Zavalko, Director of Sloboda Lyceum No. 2 (under the Sloboda Village Council, Cherkasy District, Cherkasy Region). Valeriia Shynkarova, a member of the Cherkasy City Council and Head of the Alumni Association of the Educational-Scientific Institute of Pedagogical Education, Social Work and Art, invited them to join the university’s alumni community.
In response, 2026 bachelor’s graduates expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Ukraine’s defenders, to the university, to their parents, and to themselves for successfully completing this challenging journey.
The festive atmosphere for 2026 bachelor’s graduation ceremonies was created through the joint efforts of the institutes’ directorates, the faculties’ dean’s offices, the Department of Educational Work (headed by Anna Prokopchuk), the Department of Information and Public Relations (headed by Snizhana Lysenko), the Voices Music Arts Factory (Artistic Directors – Anna Prokopchuk, Maryna Khomik, and Anastasiia Butovska), the Cherkashchanka Folk Dance Ensemble (Directors – Serhii and Karyna Kovalenko), and the Style Competitive Ballroom Dance Ensemble (Directors – Oleksandr Tsviachka and Vadym Tkachenko), all under the supervision of Halyna Havryliuk, Vice-Rector for Educational Work and Public Activities. The ceremony was hosted by Anastasiia Shostia. The university extends its sincere appreciation to Anna Kuiumdzhy, Sofiia Rymska, and Vitalina Levchenko, students of the Educational-Scientific Institute of Ukrainian Philology and Social Communications, and to the Student Television team of the Department of Journalism, Advertising, and PR Technologies for providing photo and video coverage of the events.
