Spring 2025 has become an important stage in the academic life of Bohdan Moskalenko, a first-year student majoring in 014.09 Secondary Education (Informatics) at Bohdan Khmelnytsky National University of Cherkasy, who has begun participating in the international academic mobility programme I Living Labs Spring 2025 at Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences (JAMK), Finland.

Bohdan Khmelnytsky National University of Cherkasy is an associate partner of the European University Alliance E³UDRES², and the I Living Labs mobility programme is one of the opportunities offered to students of the alliance’s partner universities. This year, the online programme started on 10th March and brought together around 100 students from various European countries, including Germany, Finland, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Spain, and others. The I Living Labs programme is designed to foster interaction among students of different specialities and academic levels, and this year’s theme is focused on joint work on solving environmental issues. Currently, participants have been divided into 8 teams, each guided by a coach. The coaches not only coordinate the work of the groups, but also help students better understand the tasks and promote the establishment of connections between participants. Since all communication is conducted in English, some students face challenges in expressing themselves. However, with the support of the coaches and the friendly atmosphere, everyone has the opportunity to work effectively and develop international interaction skills.

The key objective of E³UDRES² I Living Labs is to identify and analyse environmental issues relevant to participating universities, as well as to develop realistic solutions. This allows students not only to improve their research skills, but also to gain practical experience in the field of sustainable development and environmental initiatives. Since the programme has just begun, many interesting tasks, new acquaintances, and challenges still lie ahead. Participation in such projects opens up new opportunities for students to grow professionally, broaden their worldview, and gain unique team-working experience in a multicultural environment. Bohdan Moskalenko proudly represents his speciality and university, while gaining the first valuable knowledge and making acquaintances with future colleagues from different parts of Europe.

The E³UDRES² I Living Labs Spring 2025 programme is a great opportunity to contribute to environmental conservation and apply the theoretical knowledge gained in practice. We hope that this experience will be useful for the student’s further studies and professional development.
