The priority area for the development of Bohdan Khmelnytsky National University of Cherkasy is the internationalization of education and the search for new forms of international cooperation, which contributes to the harmonization of Ukrainian and European education. Bohdan Khmelnytsky National University of Cherkasy is an associate partner of the European University Alliance E³UDRES² and actively collaborates with member universities of the alliance under the Erasmus+ programme.
International activities are implemented through:
determination of the key areas for the development of scientific and educational relations with specific countries, regions, and HEIs;
participation in the implementation of international agreements and projects in the scientific and research field, which provides for the reciprocal exchange of scientists;
engagement in international research programs, conferences held abroad;
search for funding sources for research by university scientists, as well as for seminars and conferences held at and with the participation of Bohdan Khmelnytsky National University of Cherkasy;
integration into the system of the international scientific, informational, and communication space.
Collaboration with foreign institutions is carried out on a wide range of issues in educational, scientific, research, and social areas, with key aspects including comprehensive cooperation with over 65 foreign universities within the framework of existing bilateral agreements.
Both students and academic staff of the university have access to international academic mobility opportunities under the European Union’s Erasmus+ KA171 programme at universities in Austria, Spain, Latvia, and Germany.
Within the framework of Ukrainian-Polish scientific and educational cooperation, Bohdan Khmelnytsky National University of Cherkasy offers its students semester-long exchange programmes at Jan Długosz University in Częstochowa and Pomeranian University in Słupsk. Cooperation with the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) brings practical benefits to the university, including Polish language instruction by invited lecturers from Poland, as well as support for visits by BKNUC scientists to Polish partner universities.
Each year, university scientists travel abroad for teaching and scientific-research work, internships, participation in conferences, symposia, seminars, interstate projects, and cultural-educational programmes.
The university regularly invites foreign scientists for teaching and research activities.
Scientific international events dedicated to Europe Day are held at the university.
Presentations of international academic exchange programmes such as Erasmus+, Global UGRAD, Fulbright, Mitacs, DAAD, and others are conducted on a regular basis.
