In February – March 2025, a team of representatives from the Psychology Department at Bohdan Khmelnytsky National University of Cherkasy took part in the psychological rehabilitation of military personnel with traumatic brain injuries at the Western Rehabilitation and Sports Center of the National Sports Committee for the Disabled of Ukraine.
Psychologists and rehabilitation specialists, including Viktoriia Levchenko, lecturer at the Department of Psychology, Deep Correction and Rehabilitation, Zoriana Mamalyha, first-year master’s student, Svitlana Parkhomenko, practical psychologist of the BKNUC student campus (a 2025 graduate of the “Child Psychology and Psychotherapy” Educational Programme), worked on restoring the psychological well-being of the defenders by applying a comprehensive interdisciplinary approach to rehabilitation. The team’s efforts were aimed at supporting the psycho-emotional state, addressing the effects of traumatic experiences, and helping to build internal resources for further reintegration into civilian life.
The team of the Western Rehabilitation and Sports Center (represented by its director Nataliia Roda and rehabilitation program organizer Oleh Poruchenko), together with the staff of the Psychology Department at Bohdan Khmelnytsky National University of Cherkasy, express their sincere gratitude University Rector, Professor Oleksandr Cherevko, for his comprehensive support and facilitation of participation in this important national project. Thanks to the support of the university leadership, the specialists from the Psychology Department had the opportunity to represent the university with dignity as part of the all-Ukrainian initiative for the reintegration of military personnel.
