Within the framework of the Erasmus+ KA171 programme, a visit by Oksana Zaikovska, Head of the Department of English Philology and Methods of Teaching English at Bohdan Khmelnytsky National University of Cherkasy, to the University of Valladolid (Spain) took place from 13 to 17 April 2026.

This visit was carried out as part of a project that has been successfully implemented at the Educational-Scientific Institute of Foreign Languages since 2019 and marked another step in strengthening the academic partnership between Ukraine and Spain.

The programme of the visit was highly intensive and combined teaching activities with professional development. Oksana Zaikovska delivered two lectures for Spanish students, focusing on the evolution of Canadian literature and issues of national identity. In addition to classroom teaching, she actively participated in Academic Staff Week, presented her home university, and shared her professional experience with international colleagues.

An important component of the internship was the study of Spanish approaches to teaching philological disciplines, discussions on prospects for joint research with Professor Santiago Rodríguez Guerrero-Strachan, participation in conferences on Digital Humanities and artificial intelligence, as well as a seminar on the development of educational applications.

The acquired experience and innovative teaching practices will be integrated into the master’s programmes of the Department of English Philology and Methods of Teaching English. The successful completion of the mobility has laid the groundwork for future joint conferences and guest lectures, contributing to further internationalisation of the educational process and the development of students’ professional competences at both institutions.
