During the spring semester of 2025, second-year students of Bohdan Khmelnytsky National University of Cherkasy are participating in the Erasmus+ КА171 international academic mobility programme and studying at Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences (Latvia).
Iryna Hrytsenko (majoring in “Information Systems and Technologies”, Educational-Scientific Institute of Informational and Educational Technologies) and Mariia Shendryk (majoring in “Computer Science”, Department of Computing Engineering, Intellectual and Management Systems shared their impressions.
“I currently have a unique opportunity to participate in the Erasmus+ programme and study at Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences in Latvia. It is an incredible experience that I am living through right now – and with each passing day, it only confirms how much this programme opens up new horizons. Studying in another country has not only allowed me to improve my professional knowledge, but also to broaden my worldview, get to know representatives from other cultures, learn to adapt to new conditions and work in an international environment. I would especially like to point out the high level of programme organization: the support from the coordinators, integration into student life, and the atmosphere of openness have made my experience both comfortable and exciting. I am sincerely grateful for this opportunity and can confidently say that Erasmus+ is more than just studying. It is a path to self-development, new acquaintances, and incredible discoveries,” Mariia Shendryk said.
Iryna Hrytsenko also highlighted the versatility of the programme:
“For me, Erasmus+ is about both academic and personal growth. Studying abroad has allowed me to get acquainted with other approaches to teaching, improve my English, work in teams with students from different countries, develop soft skills, and gain new knowledge and practical experience in my field. The cultural experience has also become extremely valuable: meeting foreign students and spending time together, getting to know Latvian culture, traditions, and everyday life more deeply, and learning the Latvian language. I am also thankful for the events and trips organized by the university’s student council – they make this study period even brighter and truly unforgettable. I would like to extend my special gratitude to the Erasmus+ programme, E³UDRES², the International Office of Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences, the mentors, as well as Bohdan Khmelnytsky National University of Cherkasy for their support, effective communication, and the high-quality organization of all stages of the mobility programme.”
