Karyna Shevchenko, a student majoring in “Tourism” at Bohdan Khmelnytsky National University of Cherkasy, became a participant of the international cultural and educational project “Imagining Ukraine: Past and Future”. The events are taking place in April 2025 at the University of Greenwich, London (Heritage Gallery, Queen Anne Court).

As part of the event, a third-year student of the Educational-Scientific Institute of Economics and Law presented her creative work on the “White Lotus”, the only Buddhist temple in Eastern Europe, located in the city of Cherkasy. The project combines texts, photographs, artistic interpretations, and reflections of students from Ukraine and the United Kingdom on the identity, memory, and future of Ukraine in the context of European cultural dialogue.

This project not only highlights the uniqueness of Ukrainian locations, such as the “White Lotus”, but also allows Ukrainian youth to become ambassadors of their country’s culture and history at the international level.

Exhibition dates: April 16–17, 22–25, 2025.

Location: the University of Greenwich, London

“We congratulate Karyna on her important contribution to shaping a positive image of Ukraine on the world stage!” Oleksandr Cherevko, Rector of Bohdan Khmelnytsky National University of Cherkasy, said.
