Students of the Educational-Scientific Institute of Informational and Educational Technologies of Bohdan Khmelnytsky National University of Cherkasy have completed their academic mobility studies at Vidzeme University (Latvia).
The participants of the program were Svitlana Bodnenko, a 4th-year student majoring in “Automation and Computer-Integrated Technologies” (specialty 151) and Anna Kalantaieva, a 4th-year student majoring in “Applied Mathematics” (specialty 113).
Svitlana Bodnenko shared her impressions of this experience:
– The Erasmus+ academic mobility program in Latvia was an incredible experience for me!
During my studies, I attended various courses related to IT, English, and cultural exchange. All classes were conducted in English, which allowed me to improve both my knowledge and practical language skills.
Since students from different countries participated in the program, it allowed me to learn more not only about Latvia, its culture, and its mentality, but also about many other countries directly from the same students (namely, Armenia, Moldova, France, Albania). Thanks to the active support of our mentors, we were able to easily find common ground and make friends (some of these acquaintances have grown into strong, lasting connections that we still maintain). Together with other students, we visited various attractions, travelled to forests, explored Riga, got acquainted with the country’s cultural heritage through museums and other fascinating sites. This experience not only broadened my horizons, but also allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of their culture.
The program provided me with not only academic knowledge, but also essential social skills. Throughout my studies, I learnt to communicate effectively, quickly find solutions in complex situations, work in a team, and cooperate with people who have different values and cultural backgrounds (which will be an extremely useful skill for my future employment, as employers appreciate international experience, adaptability, and the ability to work in a multicultural environment).
I am immensely grateful to the Erasmus+ program for this unique experience that has made me more open-minded, more experienced, and more adaptable to new challenges.
