Halyna Lutsenko, Professor at the Department of Automation and Computer-Integrated Technologies, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, and Daria Tinkova, Lecturer at the ACIT Department, Doctor of Philosophy, presented the results of their scientific research at the 6th International Conference of the Portuguese Society for Engineering Education, which took place at the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal (IPS) in the picturesque city of Setúbal, Portugal, on July 16–18, 2025.
As part of the conference, held under the slogan “Emerging Trends in Engineering Education: Adapting to a Changing World”, the researchers delivered an oral report focused on the development of self-directed learning skills among engineering students through the implementation of project-based activities. Their presentation sparked lively academic discussions and attracted considerable interest from the international audience.
The conference stood out for its vibrant academic atmosphere, high level of organization, and comfortable setting, all of which contributed to the effective exchange of ideas, the establishment of international connections, and the discussion of the latest educational practices. The event brought together scholars, educators, and researchers from over ten countries who share common values regarding the future of engineering education and are seeking ways to further its advancement.
The participation of representatives from our university in an event of such scale is a testament to their high professionalism and active integration into the global educational community.
