The university has concluded a Memorandum of Cooperation with the University of Applied Sciences of Jyväskylä (JAMK University of Applied Sciences) (Finland).
The document provides for the development of cooperation in the fields of education, science, and academic exchange. The partnership is aimed at joint work on educational programmes, the implementation of scientific research, the organisation of academic events, as well as cooperation in improving curricula and the management of educational processes.
The memorandum was signed by the presidents of the universities: Vesa Saarikoski, President of JAMK University of Applied Sciences, and Oleksandr Cherevko, President of Bohdan Khmelnytsky National University of Cherkasy. The agreement has been concluded for a period of five years with the possibility of further extension of cooperation.
One of the key areas of cooperation between the universities will be the development of educational and research initiatives in the field of rehabilitation and health recovery. During working meetings, representatives of the universities discussed opportunities for:
– joint research projects in the field of rehabilitation medicine;

– the organisation of international seminars and academic exchanges;
– the use of innovative digital tools in rehabilitation practice.
In addition, the universities have already submitted a joint application to the Erasmus+ Global Mobility programme (KA171) to develop academic mobility for students and lecturers.
Special attention during future meetings will be given to the presentation of JAMK’s innovative solutions in the field of rehabilitation technologies and the development of joint educational initiatives, in particular the AIRe platform – an innovative artificial intelligence system designed to support rehabilitation and the self-management of health conditions, particularly musculoskeletal disorders.
“The signing of the memorandum marks an important step in expanding the international activities of Bohdan Khmelnytsky National University of Cherkasy and opens up new opportunities for the development of joint educational and research projects with our Finnish partners,” noted Svitlana Koval, Head of the International Relations Office. “We plan to regularly hold coordination meetings to assess the results of our cooperation and identify new areas for partnership.”
