Throughout the second semester of the 2024/2025 academic year, students of Bohdan Khmelnytsky National University of Cherkasy continued pursuing education in a dual form.

In particular, nine students of the Educational-Scientific Institute of Natural and Agrarian Sciences studied at four enterprises.

In order to effectively assess the level of academic achievements gained by students at partner enterprises, a final conference was held. It was attended by guarantors of educational programmes, heads of departments, faculty members, the institute administration, the university’s dual education form coordinator Liudmyla Smalyus, students, and their mentors from partner enterprises.

Four students pursued dual education at Yuria-Pharm LLC: biology students Oleksandra Pastushenko, Snizhana Mazur, and Iryna Overchenko, who were supervised by Yuliia Boiko, Head of the Microbiological Laboratory; and chemistry student Anastasiia Voiko, who was mentored by Nataliia Solomka, Head of the Physico-Chemical Laboratory.

Two students worked and studied at Ukravit Science Park: agronomy student Vladyslav Vovk, who was under the guidance of Iryna Rozpasiienko, Head of the Service and Analytical Centre; and chemistry student Maryna Sukhyna, who was mentored by Dina Husarova, Head of the Elemental Analysis Laboratory.

At DSV-Ukraine LLC, agronomy students Yaroslava Bilokin and Andrii Arsentiev pursued higher education under the guidance of Inna Rakul, Research Associate in Seed Production and Selection.

At Cherkasy Lyceum of Humanities and Law, dual education was undertaken by Yevhen Zubko, a student majoring in Secondary Education (Biology and Human Health), under the supervision of Nina Solomakha, Deputy Head.

During the conference, students presented the results of their studies at the enterprises and shared their impressions of the dual form of education. All participants highly valued the experience of studying educational components at the enterprises, where they work. In their opinion, this allowed them not only to master theoretical knowledge, but also to acquire practical skills essential for further successful employment. Representatives of partner enterprises shared their experience of training students at their facilities. They all emphasized the students’ high level of theoretical preparation and strong motivation for professional growth.

A key focus of the conference was the quality of specialist training. The participants discussed ways to improve the dual education form, as well as to enhance the educational programmes in which students are enrolled.

Based on employer assessments of the educational components studied by the students, the respective departmental committees will assign final grades to them.
