Tetiana Koval, Associate Professor at the Department of State and Legal Disciplines of Bohdan Khmelnytsky National University of Cherkasy (BKNUC), participated in the Council of Europe seminar entitled “Integrating a Gender Perspective into Legal Education”.

The event took place on 23 October at the European Youth Centre in Budapest, Hungary. It brought together around 60 law lecturers from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova, and Ukraine. The seminar aimed to strengthen participants’ capacity to integrate Council of Europe standards on gender equality and human rights into legal education, particularly through the development of educational programmes, the use of innovative teaching approaches, and the exchange of experience among colleagues.

The speakers included Caterina Bolognese, Head of the Gender Equality Division at the Council of Europe; Ana-Maria Telbis, Head of the Council of Europe’s HELP (Human Rights Education for Legal Professionals) Programme; Céline Braumann, a lawyer at the European Court of Human Rights; Tanasije Marinković, Professor at the University of Belgrade; Marco Evola, Professor at LUMSA University in Rome; and others.

The seminar served as a platform for discussing contemporary approaches to legal education, examining the case law of the European Court of Human Rights, and fostering professional cooperation among members of the academic community.
