A guest lecture was held for students of the Department of Preschool Education at Bohdan Khmelnytsky National University of Cherkasy, delivered by Pádraig Purcell, a volunteer of the NGO “Poruch”, who actively supports Ukrainians in the field of strategic communications and the development of personal and professional skills.

In the current context of globalisation and active international cooperation, the exchange of experience with foreign partners is of particular importance, as it contributes to the development of education, the introduction of innovative approaches and the broadening of students’ professional outlook. Such initiatives not only open up new opportunities for students but also strengthen intercultural dialogue, support Ukraine at the international level, and promote the implementation of joint educational and social projects.

In this context, an important step in the development of international cooperation and the establishment of professional dialogue was the guest lecture delivered by a representative of the international community, which enabled students to gain direct insight into practical experience and modern approaches in the fields of education and communications.

During the lecture, Pádraig Purcell shared his experience of international cooperation, spoke about the role of communication in crisis situations, the importance of Ireland’s support for Ukraine, as well as educational and social initiatives aimed at youth development and strengthening civil society. Special attention was given to leadership, adaptability, and effective interaction within the educational environment.

As part of the visit, a tour of the university’s educational infrastructure was organised for Pádraig Purcell and Ms. Snizhana, an interpreter from the Smila Art Lyceum “Uspikh” of the Cherkasy Regional Council. In particular, he visited the STEM Educational-Scientific Laboratory, the “Mr. Leader” Early Childhood Education and Care Centre, the office for methodological and practice-oriented training of preschool education specialists, as well as the exhibition hall.

The event served as an important platform for meaningful exchange of experience, during which students had the opportunity to learn about European approaches to education, communication, and social interaction. Direct dialogue with an international expert contributed to a deeper understanding of current challenges in professional practice, whilst also identifying new opportunities for personal and professional development. Of particular value was the establishment of international connections, which opens up prospects for further cooperation, participation in joint projects, internships, and educational initiatives. Such meetings foster students’ sense of belonging to the global educational community and increase motivation for self-development.
