On January 28, 2026, a meeting with representatives of the Association of Young Diplomats of Moldova (Asociația Tinerilor Diplomați / ATD) took place at the Educational-Scientific Institute of International Relations, History and Philosophy, with the support of the International Relations Office of Bohdan Khmelnytsky National University of Cherkasy.

The event brought together students of the “International Relations” educational programme, postgraduate students, and faculty members.

The purpose of the meeting was to unite students and young people interested in international relations and diplomacy, as well as to expand international cooperation between Ukraine and Moldova through public diplomacy. The participants discussed current developments in the field of youth diplomacy between the two countries, emphasising unity in countering the hybrid war waged by russia against Ukraine and Moldova, as well as a shared European integration path.

Representing the Educational-Scientific Institute of International Relations, History and Philosophy were Maksym Shcherbakov (postgraduate student, specialist at the International Relations Office), Daryna Honcharenko (2nd-year student of the “International Relations” educational programme), and Yehor Yurkovskyi (1st-year student of the “International Relations” educational programme). All three have experience participating in international projects. Also attending were academic staff of the Department of World History and International Relations (Professor Natalka Zemziulina, Associate Professors Viktoriia Kirieieva, Anzhela Irzhavska, and Tetiana Tereshchenko), as well as Tetiana Zabarna, Deputy Head of the International Relations Office.

Viktoriia Kirieieva, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of World History and International Relations, proposed concluding a cooperation agreement between the institutions in order to formalise the framework for implementing future joint projects. The initiative was supported on the Moldovan side by Mykyta Pavlenko, Head of the Association of Young Diplomats of Moldova.

Natalka Zemziulina, Professor and Guarantor of the “International Relations” educational programme, emphasised that the university has extensive experience in international cooperation and invited Moldovan students to join the European project “Challenges and Opportunities for EU Heritage Diplomacy in Ukraine”, which is being implemented at Bohdan Khmelnytsky National University of Cherkasy in 2023–2026. Possible areas and forms of cooperation were identified, particularly in the fields of education, academic programmes, and youth forums.
