Dear partners! On February 24, 2022, the Russian Federation launched a full-scale invasion to Ukraine.

Peaceful cities are under siege and on the verge of a humanitarian catastrophe. Infrastructure, hospitals, schools and residential buildings are subject to daily air strikes and artillery fire. Civilians are forced to flee their homes and hide in shelters and basements. The Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard and the Territorial Defence Forces are waging fierce battles against the Russian invaders, heroically defending the Motherland.

The enemy's weapons, in addition to the military, kill civilians, kill children. Fighting is taking place on the territory of the Chernobyl and Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plants, which poses a threat of nuclear catastrophe for Europe and whole world. Unprecedented military aggression causes a complete halt in the educational process in Ukraine, as many students and lecturers are forced to leave their hometowns immediately to escape the war.

The Russian Federation is currently waging war not only against Ukraine, but also against Europe and the entire democratic world. The world academic community must join in defending Ukraine, Europe and the world from the aggression of the Putin regime.

Bohdan Khmelnytsky National University of Cherkasy expresses its gratitude to foreign colleagues for their solidarity with the Ukrainian nation during the difficult and tragic war times! Assistance from the international educational and scientific community in the form of new cooperation initiatives, expanding access to grant programs and academic mobility, official letters of support is very valuable to us at these difficult times. We urge our colleagues around the world not to stand aside and express support for Ukraine and the Ukrainian academic community!

We call on you to stand with Ukraine in the fight against the Putin regime, against the destruction of the foundations of peace, security and democracy in Europe and around the world. We ask all possible ways and means to appeal to the governments of your countries to help Ukraine, strengthen sanctions against the Russian Federation, close the airspace over Ukraine and all other possible ways to stop aggression.

We sincerely hope for your support!
