Maksym Dolzhenko, Director of the Educational-Scientific Centre of Support and Rehabilitation of War Veterans and Students at Bohdan Khmelnytsky National University of Cherkasy, took part in an international forum dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games.
The event brought together representatives of veterans’ organisations, rehabilitation centres, and government officials from different countries. Among the distinguished participants of the forum were the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Yuliia Svyrydenko, and the Founder and Patron of the Invictus Games, the Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry, who delivered an inspiring speech about Ukraine’s role in this international project.
The Invictus Games are international competitions for wounded service personnel and veterans, bringing together participants from many countries around the world. Ukraine has been participating in the Invictus Games since 2017 and has consistently demonstrated strong results. The national team competes in athletics, archery, rowing, swimming, and other disciplines. At the 2025 Games in Canada, the Ukrainian team won third place in the overall standings.
During one of the forum’s panel discussions, Maksym Dolzhenko answered questions regarding the role of adaptive sports in the rehabilitation process and the psychological and physical impact of sports activities on veterans’ recovery.
