On October 30, 2025, annual elections to the student self-government bodies were held at Bohdan Khmelnytsky National University of Cherkasy.
Students voted for the Chair of the University Student Council, as well as for the heads and elected representatives of student councils of educational-scientific institutes and faculties.
As reported by the Chair of the University’s Central Election Commission, Liia Lubianova, the polling stations were open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The campaign was highly active – candidates presented their programs with dignity and demonstrated their willingness to work for the development of the student community.
According to the election results, Daryna Korobchenko, a student of the Educational-Scientific Institute of Physical Culture, Sports and Health, was elected Chair of the Student Council of Bohdan Khmelnytsky National University of Cherkasy, receiving 52.9% of the votes. Her opponent, Andrii Zakharchenko, a student of the Educational-Scientific Institute of International Relations, History and Philosophy, gained 32.8%, while 14.5% of voters chose not to support either candidate.
“I want to thank everyone who came and made their choice. These numbers are not just statistics – they represent trust, which I must justify through daily work. There are many challenges ahead, but together we can make student life even more active, vibrant, and meaningful,” said Daryna Korobchenko after the results were announced.
New chairs of student councils of educational-scientific institutes were also elected:

Educational-Scientific Institute of Ukrainian Philology and Social Communications – Bohdana Raku (87.8%)
Psychology Department – Yuliia Nalyvaiko (91.8%)
