The Director of the Educational-Scientific Institute of Foreign Languages at Bohdan Khmelnytsky National University of Cherkasy, Liudmyla Shvydka, took part in the 12th International Week at the University of Valladolid (Spain) within the framework of the Erasmus+ KA171 programme.

Participation in the event marked an important step in the development of international cooperation between Bohdan Khmelnytsky National University of Cherkasy and the University of Valladolid, which have been successfully implementing joint academic mobility programmes for students and staff for several years.

The International Week programme brought together representatives of higher education institutions from various countries and included a series of professional meetings, presentations, seminars, and workshops. Participants became familiar with the structure and functioning of the University of Valladolid, its internationalisation strategy, its academic mobility support system, and the implementation of international projects.

An important part of the programme was a series of meetings with international coordinators of the faculties, representatives of administrative units, and partner universities. During networking events, prospects for expanding cooperation, new opportunities for student and staff exchanges, as well as the implementation of joint educational and research initiatives were discussed.

Special attention was given to thematic seminars and workshops focused on the Erasmus+ KA171 programme, international projects of the European Union, modern approaches to the internationalisation of higher education, and the use of artificial intelligence in education. Participants had the opportunity to explore best European practices and exchange experience in developing international partnerships.

As part of the programme, Liudmyla Shvydka also visited the campus of the University of Valladolid in Segovia, where she familiarised herself with its infrastructure, teaching facilities, and the organisation of the educational process. The visit provided an excellent opportunity to establish new professional contacts and strengthen existing partnerships.

Summing up the results of the visit, Liudmyla Shvydka noted: “The Erasmus+ KA171 programme between Bohdan Khmelnytsky National University of Cherkasy and the University of Valladolid is the largest academic mobility project both for the Educational-Scientific Institute of Foreign Languages and for BKNUC as a whole. During our cooperation, 27 grants for academic mobility have been awarded. It was extremely important for me to personally meet colleagues coordinating international cooperation, as well as to visit the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters and the Department of English Philology, where our students study. Such meetings help not only to strengthen partnership ties but also to better understand the needs and opportunities for further development of academic mobility between our universities”.
