On April 10, 2024, scientists of Bohdan Khmelnytsky National University of Cherkasy held a working meeting with Yue Li and Lauren Bull, representatives of the International Office of the University of Greenwich, Great Britain.

Bohdan Khmelnytsky National University of Cherkasy was represented by Oleksandr Spriahailo, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Innovation Activities, Oleksandra Demyanenko, Head of the International Relations Office, and staff members of the International Relations Office. During the meeting, there was an introduction to new colleagues from the International Relations Office of the University of Greenwich. The results of the previous cooperation were summarized including the organization of a joint conference, participation of British scientists in the “Tourism and Hospitality: State, Problems, Prospects” conference held at BKNUC, involvement of BKNUC students in the summer law school of the University of Greenwich, etc. Current projects regarding English language courses for lecturers and students were discussed and a perspective plan for the next academic year was agreed upon.

During the discussion, various ideas and proposals aimed at strengthening ties between universities and improving the quality of education and science were heard. Both universities expressed readiness for further cooperation and plan to implement joint initiatives in the near future.

Oleksandr Spriahailo, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Innovation Activities, emphasized the interest of BKNUC in supporting and developing international exchange of students, joint research projects and other forms of cooperation. The meeting was an important step in enhancing the international relations of our university and strengthening our reputation as a centre of education and science. We plan to actively work on the implementation of agreed initiatives and joint projects with the University of Greenwich to achieve mutual goals and develop our international cooperation.
